What Makes a Startup Fundable Before Revenue

Fundable is not the same as profitable

Many early founders assume they need revenue before an investor will talk to them. In reality, most pre-seed and seed rounds are decided on signals, not sales.

The signals that matter

Team. Why are you the people to solve this? Relevant experience, deep knowledge of the customer, or a technical edge all count.

Problem clarity. Can you describe a painful, specific problem in one sentence? Vague problems lead to vague pitches.

Evidence of demand. Letters of intent, pilot users, a waitlist, or paid trials show that someone besides you cares.

Market logic. You do not need a huge number on a slide. You need a believable path from your first customers to a large market.

What to do this month

Write down your three strongest signals and put them on the first two slides of your deck. Remove anything that does not support them.
